Heating and cooling are different searches. Build pages for both.

Split furnace, AC and heat pump work into their own pages and profile services, and say plainly when you take emergency calls.

In January, a homeowner types “furnace not working.” In July, the same person types “AC blowing warm air.” Those are two different problems, two different searches and two different moments of panic.

If your site has one page called “Heating and Air,” both searches land on something vague. This guide shows how to split your work so each search finds a clear answer.

Why the split matters

Google says local results depend on relevance, distance and prominence. Relevance means how well your profile and pages match the search. A page about furnace repair matches “furnace not working” far better than a page about everything.

New Reward’s HVAC review starts with this same fix: separate heating and cooling, then make emergency coverage clear.

The pages most HVAC companies need

Build only the pages for work you actually do. A common set looks like this:

  • Furnace repair and furnace replacement
  • AC repair and AC installation
  • Heat pumps, if you install or service them
  • Maintenance plans or tune-ups
  • Emergency service, if you take after-hours calls

What goes on each page

  1. The problem, in homeowner words. “No heat.” “Warm air from the vents.” “Strange noise from the outdoor unit.”
  2. What you do about it, in a few plain sentences.
  3. When you come: regular hours, and whether you take emergency calls.
  4. Where you work: your towns, by name.
  5. Who does the work: your certifications and what they mean.
  6. Proof: recent reviews and photos of real jobs.

Name your credentials plainly

Homeowners let your techs into their homes. Credentials help them say yes.

  • EPA Section 608. The EPA requires technicians who maintain, service, repair or dispose of equipment that could release ozone-depleting refrigerants to be certified. If your techs hold it, say so on your cooling and heat pump pages.
  • Energy Skilled. The Department of Energy and Google added a “U.S. Dept. of Energy Recognized” label to Google Business Profiles for companies that employ someone with a DOE-recognized “Energy Skilled” credential. HVAC is one of the named trades.

Only list what your team really holds.

Set up your Google profile the same way

  • Category: Google says to choose a specific category for your business as a whole and not to add one for every service. Then use the services list for furnace repair, AC repair, heat pumps and tune-ups.
  • Hours: show your real customer-facing hours, and add special hours for holidays.
  • Service area: if customers don’t come to your shop, Google says to hide your address. Keep the area within about two hours of driving.

Get ready before each season

The week before your first cold snap or heat wave:

  • Update your profile photos and post about the season’s top problem.
  • Check that your emergency hours are right everywhere.
  • Make sure your heating or cooling page is linked from your home page.

Your checklist

  • Separate pages for heating, cooling and any heat pump work
  • An emergency page if you take after-hours calls
  • Each page names your towns and shows a call button at the top
  • Certifications listed only where your team holds them
  • Profile services match your page titles
  • Hours and special hours checked before each season
